Painting F.A.Q

How you do color metallic dragons? Are you going to make a tutorial?

A process not easily described, but better shown with minor description. I will be making a tutorialboox about metallic coloring sometime. Stay tuned.

Can I draw fan art of your character creations?

Yes! I allow others to make fan art of things I have created. You are most welcome to go ahead and make any.

Can I use your design as a tattoo?

Yes! Over the years I have had numerous people ask about using my designs for tattoos. I do welcome others to use it, but please ask me about it first. I also appreciate photos of tattoos made of my designs.

Sculpture F.A.Q

What material do you use to sculpt?

I use sculpey. It is a oven-bake clay. You can find it online or at your local arts and craft store.

How did you learn to sculpt so fast?

It just comes to me naturally, I never have been to a private art school. I've always been able to do this, just never had a reason to share what I can really do until now. I find myself at tune with the materials I use, and just use my knowledge, inspiration, and drive to create the things I love.

How do you sculpt scales on dragons?

I sculpt them individually by hand and carefully place them one-by-one  on the sculpture, I do not use any stencil or special tools to make scales whatsoever. I also use patience.

Do you use any tools while sculpting?

The majority of my time sculpting is just by using my hands. Sometimes I make tools from random objects I have such as wires and the end of paintbrush sticks from old brushes no longer used.

How come your beads don't melt when baking them?

I check the melting points and composition of my materials before baking them. Melting point for my beads are 320 °F. When I bake sculpey, it's 275 °F. It's a good idea to check this before baking random objects.

Where do your ideas come from?

They come from my inspiration of the things I love. Music, reptiles, and knowledge of the world around me.
